The in-depth review for Fenix 6 mentioned that Respiration Rate is available — but with chest strap only? Instead, I have submitted a request to Garmin for the feature and suggest that everyone interested does the same.
I would buy Fenix 6X, but 51mm is to big at my wrist, although doable in worse case scenario.
