I was in desperate need of utilizing too many left over Costco tomatoes and this was right up my alley. Pot or saucepan for sauce• I realize "velvety" is an obnoxious food descriptor but it's truly the only word that works here. If you want a spicier sauce add either crushed red pepper to taste or use hot Italian sausage. Add the tomatoes be gentle, or the oil may spit , sugar, chillies and half a teaspoon of salt.
